eeek ok izaak finally lost his shit

Tension hung in the air making it hard to breathe.  Izaak stood almost a foot taller than Violet, and now they were toe-to-toe, his scowl a stark contrast to her careless grin.

"Yo, fine whatever.  If Molly don't want me drivin' her car, then we can just Uber, right Clo?"

"No, it's fine, just take it and be careful.  Don't do any drugs."

Now three sets of eyes stared straight at me:  one curious, one amused, and one baffled.  "Are you joking?" Izaak barked, then turned back to Violet.  "I guess you're going with me."

She gave the most exaggerated eyeroll.

Anxiety spread through my body making it hard to stand still.  I really wanted to just take Izaak's hand and lead him away, but his body was so rigid.  My big teddy-bear friend didn't look so soft and cuddly right now... his shoulders were tensed up, ready to fight, eyes narrowed at Violet.  Even if I tried to tug on his arm, he wouldn't budge.

Violet didn't let his piercing gaze or gigantic size intimidate her.  "You can't make me."

Ugh... the way she was acting prompted a moral dilemma about how to proceed.  On the one hand, Violet deserved whatever she had coming to her.  But knowing Izaak's state of mind worried me that he'd do something we'd all regret.

It's not like I had much time to think about it, because Violet reached up to shove Izaak away and he grabbed her wrist, spinning her around and pushing her down face first onto the car hood.  I gasped — I didn't expect he could be so fast!  Chloe's eyes widened and it looked like she also wondered what to do.

"Ow!  What the fuck!"  She struggled but was unable to move.

Izaak looked at me.  "Under the backseat there's an orange box.  Bring me the rope from inside."

My legs stayed frozen in place.  "Are... you sure?"

"Yes, get it now."  His no-nonsense tone urged me to get moving.

Violet stomped her feet in protest and spewed out a few f-words, which I could hear from the back door of the Suburban.  My hands shook as I fumbled through the roadside emergency kit, finally landing on the nylon rope and pulling it out.  Instead of immediately going back to the chaos, I took a deep breath and checked my phone, seeing a message from Adam.  Family emergency, going to CT in the morning.  So sorry.  Raincheck?

Fuck.  Just what I needed to make this week even worse.  My supposed boyfriend had cancelled our Sunday ritual the entire month, usually last minute and with a good excuse so I couldn't get upset about it.  I could feel him wanting to end the relationship, avoiding it because he didn't want to break my heart.  But he'd checked out a long time ago.

Suddenly I didn't care anymore if Izaak took out his anger on Violet.

I typed back a quick and cold yeah, then slammed the door and headed over to where Izaak stood next to our shouting friend, looking like he was about to start spanking her right there on the side of the road.

He didn't thank me, just snatched the rope from my hands and began working on binding her wrists.  Sweat beaded on his forehead but he remained quiet for now, ignoring Violet's insults.  She still wasn't taking this seriously, which made me wonder what was on her mind.  This was the worst I'd seen her since the relapse a couple of weeks ago...

Izaak checked to make sure the rope was knotted and secure, then lifted Violet to her feet, keeping a grip around her upper arm.  She gave him a side-eyed glare, hands fidgeting behind her back as she attempted to get free.  "This shit's too tight."

"So you cannot free yourself."  He looked down at me.  "Take Chloe home.  I'll deal with Esperanza."

"You kidnappin' me??"

Izaak ignored her, holding his gaze at me and making me feel really little.  I didn't want to question his decisions (my tummy was really against me doing so), but part of me still worried for his emotional health.  "You don't have to do this..."

"Somebody has to, and you never hold her accountable for this disrespectful behavior.  I can't believe you were going to allow her to take your car out again.  After she just crashed it and fled the scene..."

As soon as I began tearing up from his scolding, Violet bumped into him angrily.  "Bro, shut the fuck up.  Leave my sis alone.  It's me you gotta fuckin' problem with, not her."

Now I couldn't keep my stupid crying inside anymore, but fortunately no one was paying attention to me (like usual).

Izaak was completely over Violet's bullshit.  "You're right.  And I'm getting sick of your fucking mouth."  And then he effortlessly hauled her to his SUV, practically throwing her into the backseat and climbing in after.  The door slammed shut but I could still hear muffled arguments, then the sound of a hard, bare bottom hand spanking.
