izaak/molly continued again

The shorts I picked out squeezed against my chunky thighs and my belly poked out under the T-shirt, making me uncomfortable as I brushed the tangles out of my wet hair.  I wrapped the red strands into pigtail braids, staring at how ridiculous I looked in the fogged up mirror.  I'd been so skinny in grad school.  Having Izaak around helped me take care of myself... it was the only time in my adult life that I'd had a "normal" sleeping, eating, and exercising schedule.

With my hair finished, I sighed and finally emerged from the bathroom.  Izaak stood near the kitchen sweeping, peering up as I passed by and giving a little smirk.

"What??" I asked in a whiny voice.

He leaned the broom against the wall.  "You've grown."

I blushed a little at his observation of my body.  For his personality type (and his job) it was normal for him to notice, but still felt awkward.  And also like I was just a kid.

Izaak now came towards me, placing a hand on my back and nudging me forward.  I obediently allowed him to lead me to the couch, then he tugged me to sit on his lap.  I squirmed a bit, no longer used to him making me sit so close, but he wrapped his arms around my waist so I couldn't scoot away.

"What happened that you thought it'd be a good idea to pull such a dangerous stunt last night?"  His tone was kind, but firm.  It made everything in my body quiver, and I hung my head, unable to face him.

"Her boyfriend was just being awful and..."

He cut me off.  "That's not what I mean."  Then lifted my chin to look at him.  "What happened with you?"

I chewed on my lower lip, annoyed with myself for being so transparent that Izaak knew my pattern of negative coping skills.  So instead of answering, I pulled at the shirt and shifted in my seat.  "These clothes are uncomfy," I pouted.

"After our talk, I'll find you something else.  Chloe left a few items."  His adam's apple bobbed as if he was swallowing back his own emotions, which was my in.

"How are you doing with all of that, by the way?"  I even snuggled up a little closer and put on my best compassionate face, ready to play therapist.

"This conversation is about you.  We can discuss my feelings another time.  Right now I want to know what happened."

"Your feelings about Chloe are definitely more important.  Have you talked to her lately?"

He didn't respond at first, opting for the silent treatment (doesn't work on me) as I poked his tummy playfully.  When I hit his tickle spot, he cracked a smile and grabbed my hand.  "Stop," he ordered, going back to his stoic face.  "We're about to have this conversation with you over my knee."

"Noooooo," I whined, now burying my face in his chest.  "Nothing happened.  I just needed to help my client, and everything ended up fine, so I say it was a win."

Izaak pulled me away, keeping a grip on my upper arms and looking me in the eyes.  "You're lying and this is your last chance to have an adult conversation with me.  Tell me what happened."

"I don't wanna talk about it."

He shook his head and next thing I knew, I was facing the wooden floor and his large hand was descending on my tight shorts.  I immediately reached back to block, and he caught my hand in his, not missing a swat.
