violet would assume that molly talked to vic about EVERYTHING... maybe not details of the punishment, but at least the drugs, debt, and new dynamic with gabe.
molly and vic did talk about violet a lot. most of it was just speculation about what she was doing. molly suspected the drugs and some gambling, and of course they knew about the gangbangers because of when izaak got them. with violet's history of dealing, it's likely vic would have suspected the dealing.
it's safe to assume that they mostly kept vic out of the loop because he's out of town for work. molly probably talked to him a little about it but downplayed it so he wouldn't worry too much. the night that chloe was with violet, molly probably talked to vic and confirmed the drug use and that they were going to call gabe.
vic still didn't know the extent so that's why they were on facetime that night. molly didn't want to totally rat out violet, and since vic didn't know how bad it really was, he assumed the problems were more related to drugs. mostly that she was dealing. he also lives kind of in a fantasy land sometimes anyway.
so vic only knows she was doing coke and dealing/hanging out with andy again.
he would (rightly) assume that she was dealing as more of a financial thing and not knowing what to do with her life.
vic probably asked molly "why would she get back into that again?"
and molly would respond in her best therapist voice, "it's probably a trauma response... not having money growing up, no stability right now, she would go back to something familiar to feel that comfort again."

vic wants to tell violet that she doesn't have to worry about money anymore because he's finally at a place of financial stability where he can help out.
that being said, she should take this opportunity working with gabe as a learning experience and to figure out what she wants to do with her life. it's fine if she enjoys the work, but that she has to be true to herself/genuine rather than reacting out of need for money.

"hermanita... one last thing. financially i'm okay now... i know i never had money when you were growing up, but now it's different. and you'd never ask, because that's not how you roll... but if you need it... that's what i'm here for. we're fam. so if the job with gabe doesn't work out, no worries, i got you. just please, what i want in return is that you use the experience as an opportunity to start over. figure out where you're going in life and genuinely who you want to be as a person, then live by that. and this concludes my TED talk," he said with a chuckle and wave.
"thanks, reverend," I teased, then shook my head.
